The Sixth Factor of Achievement: Identity...YOUR Passion

Passion: (noun) Driving forces that compel us to act.

Not a singular term. You might want to think of it as passions. (plural)
And Identity...the same as passion?

Not at all, but your passion comes forth from your identity.

If you don't know who you are, you will be devoid of passion. If you only partially connect with your future you will not manifest (forgive me) your obsession.

Identity...

I'm a Republican, I'm a Democrat.

I'm a Christian, I'm a Jew.

I'm pro life. I'm pro choice.

I'm a....

We are very quick to give our identity to a larger collective. Then when that collective acts in ways that are inconsistent with other parts of who you are, choices are made...do you go with the group identity or do you break with the group and stand alone?

Standing A-LONE is a LONELY thing to do and that's why we find two politcal parties in America that get television time and then you find people like me loosely affiliate with the Libertarian Party but ready to jump at a moments notice. Fortunately Libertarians generally are pretty consistent in their desired outcomes...outcomes that are pro democracy (you vote before you give taxpayer money, your money, to a big insurance company whose BUSINESS IS TO SECURE YOUR MONEY WITH THEIR WISDOM.)

We put money in banks because it is suppposed to be SAFE there. So safe it's better than having it in your floor safe....so much for that idea...what were we thinking.

Identity is what drives passion and then passion loops back into your identity.

If you have been wondering what you want to be when you reach 30 or 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 or 90....and just don't know...if life is passing you by...understanding YOUR IDENTITY is crucial. Passion and Identity "feed" each other.

Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, called this factor "a burning desire."

From a surface level view, that's partially "right." But there are far more elements of passion WITHIN your identity, that are going on than simply a "burning desire."
